**Title**Active Missions
**Standard Text**Missions currently underway across StarForgeRP.
Active Missions collects focused stories that have moved beyond planning and are presently developing through roleplay. These may include military operations, investigations, expeditions, contracts, rescue efforts, criminal jobs, diplomatic assignments, searches, recovery efforts, emergency responses, or other situations organized around a particular objective or problem.
A mission being active does not automatically mean that participation is closed. Some missions continue to welcome additional characters, while others have limited openings or are currently focused on an established group.
For a broader explanation of how missions work, including status, participation, creation, and continuity, see **Missions** (https://www.starforgerp.com/roleplay/missions).

**Standard Text**The listings below provide a quick view of missions currently underway.
Look at both the mission's status and its participation information before joining. Every mission listed here is Active, but participation may be Open, Limited, or Closed depending on the circumstances of the story.
An active mission does not need to be accepting new participants to remain useful. Its record can also help players follow developing events, understand what characters or organizations are currently involved, and identify circumstances that may affect other stories.
**Small Text / Caption**No active mission records are currently published on this page.
**Standard Text**When active missions are added, use the following listing format:
**Subheading**[Mission Name]
**Small Text / Caption**Active · [In-Universe Date or Timeframe] · [Primary Location]
Participation: [Open / Limited / Closed]
**Standard Text**[Summarize the mission's present situation in approximately one to three short paragraphs. Explain what participants are currently attempting to accomplish, investigate, prevent, recover, protect, discover, resolve, or survive. Include enough context for another player to understand what is happening without reproducing the full mission record or revealing information intended to be discovered through play.]
[Where useful, briefly identify the immediate complication, unresolved question, change of objective, or current circumstance driving the next stage of the mission. Do not establish a predetermined outcome.]

**Heading**Joining an Active Mission
**Standard Text**Start with a believable reason for your character to become involved.
A character might receive orders, accept a contract, know someone already participating, belong to an affected organization, possess useful expertise, have a personal interest in the objective, work in the area, pursue the same target, investigate the same problem, owe someone a favor, or become caught up in the situation through circumstances of their own.
Different characters do not need to approach the mission in the same way. A soldier, investigator, medic, slicer, diplomat, scholar, technician, mercenary, criminal, Jedi, Sith, local resident, or civilian specialist may each have very different reasons for becoming involved—and may disagree considerably about what should happen next.
Participation labels indicate whether additional involvement is currently available:
**List**
* Open — Additional characters with believable reasons for involvement are currently welcome.* Limited — Additional participation may be possible depending on the character, circumstances, timing, or needs of the story. Coordinate with the existing participants first.* Closed — The mission is currently focused on its established participants and is not accepting additional characters.
**Standard Text**These labels describe participation, not what a character knows in-universe.
Information recorded on StarForgeRP is primarily player-facing reference material. Reading a mission briefing, participant list, secret objective, investigation note, or related character dossier does not automatically give a character access to that information.
For open situations specifically designed to help new characters find a believable point of entry, see **RP Hooks** (https://www.starforgerp.com/roleplay/rp-hooks). For expectations concerning collaboration, character agency, conflict, player knowledge, and joining established stories, see **Roleplay Guidelines** (https://www.starforgerp.com/guide/roleplay-guidelines).
**Heading**Following an Active Mission
**Standard Text**An active mission record should reflect what is actually developing through roleplay rather than what was originally expected to happen.
Objectives may change. Information may prove incomplete. Plans can fail. Participants may discover that the original problem was misunderstood, disagree over how to proceed, lose an opportunity, gain an unexpected ally, encounter a new complication, or create consequences that become more important than the original assignment.
The mission page should be updated when those developments become important to understanding its current situation, but it does not need to become a transcript of every scene.
Connections elsewhere on StarForgeRP should also be maintained when they become useful. Character dossiers can record personal consequences. Campaign records can show how the mission affects a larger story. Galaxy pages can preserve lasting changes to locations. Significant developments may appear on the Timeline when their chronological placement matters to the wider continuity.
**Heading**When a Mission Ends
**Standard Text**A mission becomes concluded when its active roleplay has ended—not only when its original objective succeeds.
The objective may be completed, failed, abandoned, superseded, rendered impossible, or transformed into another problem. Whatever the result, the final record should preserve what actually happened and which consequences remain relevant.
Concluded missions with continuing value can be preserved through the **Story Archive** (https://www.starforgerp.com/roleplay/story-archive), where later players can trace earlier events, participants, locations, decisions, and unresolved consequences without treating the story as still active.
A concluded mission can also leave behind new RP hooks, relationships, enemies, obligations, investigations, damaged locations, changed organizations, or circumstances that become the beginning of another story.
