The Characters archive documents the people whose lives form part of StarForgeRP’s shared continuity. Their dossiers preserve the backgrounds, relationships, affiliations, responsibilities, circumstances, and lasting developments that help other players understand where those characters fit within the wider galaxy.
A character dossier records an established person, not a predetermined future. Relationships can change, loyalties can shift, responsibilities can grow, plans can fail, and the consequences of roleplay can alter a character’s circumstances. The archive preserves what continues to matter while leaving what happens next to develop through play.

The Character Directory is the central index of people documented within StarForgeRP. Its entries provide a concise starting point for discovering characters across different affiliations, professions, backgrounds, and circumstances, while individual dossiers preserve the fuller context of their lives and continuing continuity.
Create Character provides a starting point for bringing a new character into StarForgeRP or adapting an existing one to the shared setting. A character does not need an exhaustive biography before roleplay begins; they need enough identity, context, capability, limitation, and circumstance to occupy a believable place in the galaxy and interact meaningfully with other people.

A character dossier is primarily a player-facing reference and continuity record. It should make the character understandable, preserve developments that may matter again, and provide enough context for other players to recognize believable points of connection. It does not need to document every possession, conversation, scene, or event in the character’s life.
Information recorded on a dossier is not automatically information another character knows in-universe. Characters should act according to what they could reasonably observe, have been told, recognize, research, remember, infer, or discover through roleplay. Private history and concealed circumstances may still be useful to players without becoming automatic in-character knowledge.
Dossiers can change as characters do. Relationships, affiliations, responsibilities, injuries, reputations, residences, goals, and other lasting circumstances may develop through roleplay and remain important afterward. From Character to Story
Characters become part of shared continuity through the people, places, institutions, events, and stories around them. A dossier may lead naturally toward a faction or organization in Lore Lore, a physical location in Galaxy, an established event in the Timeline, or a continuing narrative preserved through Roleplay.
When the goal is to find somewhere a character might become involved next, RP Hooks collects situations and opportunities intended to provide believable starting points without deciding their relationships, conflicts, discoveries, or outcomes in advance.
The Characters archive preserves who these people are and what has shaped them. Roleplay determines what they become next.
