Privacy Policy

StarForgeRP is a community-built archive and reference resource for Star Wars: The Old Republic roleplay. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information may be handled in connection with the website, how that information may be used or published, and what choices players and visitors have regarding information associated with them.

StarForgeRP is intended to preserve fictional characters, stories, locations, lore, and shared roleplay continuity. Some parts of that archive may also contain limited player information when a participant chooses to provide it.

Information You Choose to Provide

StarForgeRP may receive personal information when you contact the site, submit material for inclusion in the archive, request a correction or update, or otherwise communicate with those maintaining the project.

Depending on what you choose to provide, this may include information such as:

• a player name, display name, or online handle

• a preferred method of contact

• an email address or other contact identifier

• roleplay availability or scheduling preferences

• roleplay preferences or participation information

• information submitted alongside a character dossier, story, organization, location, or other archive contribution

• correspondence concerning corrections, moderation, continuity, permissions, or administration

You should not submit personal information that is unnecessary for participating in StarForgeRP. In particular, avoid providing sensitive real-world information merely because a dossier or other archive page offers space for additional detail.

Information Published in the Archive

Most StarForgeRP content concerns fictional characters, organizations, locations, stories, and roleplay events rather than the real-world identity of a participant.

Some pages may nevertheless include limited player-facing information where it is useful for arranging or discovering roleplay. For example, a character dossier may identify a player by a chosen handle or include a preferred contact method, availability, or roleplay preferences.

Information placed on a public StarForgeRP page should be treated as publicly available information. It may be viewed by visitors, indexed by search engines, copied or quoted by others, or remain accessible through caches or archives outside StarForgeRP's direct control.

For that reason, only information intended for public association with you should be submitted for publication.

Technical and Usage Information

StarForgeRP is hosted using Google Sites. When you visit the website, Google may process technical information associated with your use of its services, including information about your browser or device, IP address, interactions with the service, cookies or similar technologies, and related usage information. Google's collection and processing of this information is governed by Google's own privacy practices.

Information provided to StarForgeRP may be used to operate and maintain the roleplay archive, communicate with participants, publish requested material, preserve continuity, process corrections or removal requests, coordinate contributions, address technical or administrative problems, and protect the integrity of the site and its community resources.

• maintaining character dossiers and other archive entries

• identifying the player responsible for a character or contribution when appropriate

• providing contact or roleplay-discovery information that a participant has chosen to make public

• responding to questions, requests, corrections, or concerns

• maintaining continuity between characters, stories, organizations, locations, and events

• reviewing or updating submitted material

• addressing misuse, security concerns, or other administrative issues

• complying with applicable legal obligations when required

StarForgeRP is designed as a long-term roleplay archive. Information intentionally incorporated into character dossiers, stories, event records, timelines, or other public pages may therefore remain available after the roleplay in which it originated has concluded.

That archival purpose does not require players to preserve unnecessary real-world personal information indefinitely.

If a participant no longer wants a player handle, contact method, availability, or similar personal information displayed publicly, they may request that the information be corrected, removed, or replaced where reasonably possible.

Because StarForgeRP is hosted through Google Sites, Google may use cookies and similar technologies in connection with the operation, security, functionality, measurement, or other features of its services. Google explains that its services may use these technologies for purposes including security and analytics.

Google Sites also provides cookie notices concerning certain Google and site cookies in regions where those notices apply.

Your browser may allow you to block, delete, or otherwise manage cookies. Restricting cookies may affect the operation of some website or embedded features.

StarForgeRP may contain links to or make use of services operated by third parties, including Google services, Discord, Star Wars: The Old Republic resources, or other websites relevant to roleplay and research.

Following a link to another website or using another platform means that the privacy practices of that service may apply. StarForgeRP does not control how independently operated third-party services collect, use, retain, or disclose information.

StarForgeRP may make information available to others when publication is part of the purpose for which it was submitted—for example, when a player provides a handle or roleplay contact preference for inclusion on a public character dossier.

Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to operate the site's supporting services, respond to valid legal requirements, investigate misuse or security concerns, protect the rights or safety of participants or others, or otherwise comply with applicable law.

How long information is retained depends on why it is being kept.

Fictional characters, stories, timeline entries, locations, organizations, and other continuity material may be preserved for the long term because maintaining a persistent historical archive is one of StarForgeRP's primary purposes.

Personal information used only for correspondence or administration should not be retained longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was provided, subject to legitimate archival, security, dispute-resolution, or legal needs.

You may contact StarForgeRP if you want to request a correction to personal information associated with you, update publicly displayed player information, remove a contact method or other unnecessary personal identifier, or ask what personal information StarForgeRP maintains about you.

Depending on where you live and which privacy laws apply, you may also have legal rights concerning access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or objection to certain processing of your personal information. Applicable privacy laws may provide additional rights beyond the voluntary practices described on this page.

StarForgeRP may need enough information to identify the relevant record and reasonably verify that a request concerns you before making changes.

Do not submit another person's real-world personal information for publication without an appropriate reason and their permission. 

This is separate from documenting fictional relationships between characters. A character dossier may describe another fictional character where relevant to established roleplay, but that does not make it appropriate to publish private information about the player behind that character.

StarForgeRP should not be used to submit personal information about a child under 13.

StarForgeRP should take reasonable care when handling non-public information and should limit access to information that does not need to be publicly available.

This Privacy Policy may be revised as StarForgeRP develops, new features or services are introduced, information practices change, or legal and administrative requirements evolve.
