These Terms of Use govern access to and use of StarForgeRP, including the public website, its archive and reference material, and material submitted for possible publication through StarForgeRP.
By accessing or using StarForgeRP, or by submitting material through a process that presents these Terms as a condition of submission, you agree to comply with these Terms to the extent applicable under law. If you do not agree with them, you should not submit material to StarForgeRP and should discontinue any use that requires acceptance of these Terms.
StarForgeRP is a community-built roleplay archive and reference resource for collaborative roleplay set in the era of Star Wars: The Old Republic. For more information about the purpose of the project, see About StarForgeRP.
These Terms apply to StarForgeRP itself. Roleplay, communication, accounts, purchases, or other activity conducted through Star Wars: The Old Republic, Discord, Google, or another third-party service may also be governed by that service's own terms, policies, and rules.
StarForgeRP is an independent fan-created roleplay and reference website based on Star Wars: The Old Republic and the wider Star Wars setting.
StarForgeRP is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by Lucasfilm Ltd., The Walt Disney Company, Electronic Arts Inc., Broadsword Online Games, Inc., or their respective affiliates or subsidiaries.
Star Wars, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and related names, characters, settings, imagery, trademarks, game material, and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective rights holders. Nothing on StarForgeRP should be understood as claiming ownership of official Star Wars or SWTOR material.
References to official characters, locations, factions, organizations, events, terminology, game material, or established lore are included to provide context for fan-created roleplay, reference material, and archival content. The appearance or discussion of third-party intellectual property on StarForgeRP does not grant visitors permission to reproduce, distribute, commercially exploit, or otherwise use that material beyond rights they independently possess under applicable law.
StarForgeRP may be used to browse characters, lore, locations, chronology, stories, roleplay opportunities, guides, and other material made available through the archive.
When using or contributing to StarForgeRP, you must not knowingly use the site to:
violate applicable law or the legal rights of another person;
infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
harass, threaten, stalk, impersonate, defame, or deliberately target another real person;
publish private, sensitive, or personally identifying information about another person without appropriate permission;
distribute malicious software, interfere with the operation of the site, bypass access restrictions, or attempt to compromise accounts, services, or technical systems;
submit material you know you do not have the right to share;
falsely attribute another person's work, statements, characters, decisions, or roleplay to them;
publish unlawfully obtained, confidential, or leaked material; or
use StarForgeRP in a manner that materially disrupts the archive, its operation, or its community purpose.
Collaborative roleplay can involve fictional conflict, disagreement, rivalry, deception, failure, injury, loss, crime, warfare, and other difficult subjects. Fictional circumstances do not excuse harassment, threats, privacy violations, impersonation, or other harmful conduct directed at the real people participating.
Additional expectations for collaborative play, including character agency, communication, conflict, and shared continuity, are described in the Roleplay Guidelines.
StarForgeRP may include community-created material such as character dossiers, character histories, relationships, organizations, locations, stories, campaign records, mission summaries, roleplay hooks, timeline entries, artwork, images, graphics, and other contributions.
You remain responsible for material you submit.
You should submit only material that you created, that you have appropriate permission to provide, or that you are otherwise legally entitled to share. If a contribution includes work created by another player, writer, artist, photographer, or other contributor, you are responsible for ensuring that you have any permission needed to include that material.
Collaborative material should also respect the agency of the people involved. Do not present another player's character as having agreed to a significant relationship, action, history, outcome, affiliation, or other development unless that information was established through roleplay or coordinated with the relevant participant.
Material submitted for publication on StarForgeRP may become publicly accessible, searchable, linked from other pages, and preserved within the archive.
Do not submit confidential information, private personal information, or material that should not be publicly available merely because the information is secret or restricted within the fictional setting. Information that is confidential in-character may still be visible to players reading the archive.
If you provide a public username, roleplay handle, attribution name, or preferred contact method for publication, that information may be displayed with the relevant contribution or character entry. Only provide information you are comfortable having published for that purpose.
Submitting material to StarForgeRP does not transfer ownership of the original rights you hold in that material.
Your rights extend only to material you are legally entitled to own or control. Creating a Star Wars-inspired character, story, organization, location, image, or other contribution does not give you ownership of the underlying Star Wars setting, official characters, terminology, imagery, or other third-party intellectual property incorporated into that contribution.
Collaborative material may contain contributions or rights belonging to more than one participant. No contributor should assume that submitting a shared story, relationship, organization, artwork, or other collaborative work gives them exclusive ownership of material contributed by someone else.
When you voluntarily submit original material for publication on StarForgeRP, you grant StarForgeRP a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, reproduce, publicly display, publish, format, organize, edit, adapt, archive, and make that contribution available as part of the StarForgeRP project.
This permission includes the reasonable use of portions of a contribution in indexes, directories, summaries, timelines, related entries, featured content, internal links, navigation, and other parts of the archive where doing so helps document or connect the shared continuity.
StarForgeRP may also authorize service providers acting on its behalf to store, host, back up, process, or display contributed material to the extent reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, preserve, or present the archive.
This permission exists so that StarForgeRP can function as a persistent and interconnected community archive. It does not transfer ownership of your original contribution to StarForgeRP, and it does not grant StarForgeRP ownership of third-party intellectual property contained within that contribution.
StarForgeRP may make reasonable editorial changes to submitted material for spelling, grammar, readability, formatting, accessibility, page organization, internal linking, terminology, continuity labeling, technical presentation, and consistency with the rest of the archive.
Information may also be summarized, reorganized, or moved when the same development needs to appear in a character history, organization entry, location page, story record, directory, or the Timeline.
Editorial changes should preserve the intended substance of a contribution. When a proposed change would materially alter the intended identity, history, relationships, motivations, or established actions of a player-created character, coordination with the relevant contributor should normally occur where practical.
Because StarForgeRP is intended to preserve an evolving continuity, contributions may need to change as characters, relationships, organizations, locations, and stories develop.
Contributors may request reasonable corrections or updates to material they contributed. Requests involving shared events, relationships, organizations, locations, or other collaborative material may require coordination with other participants whose established contributions would also be affected.
A contributor may also request public removal of original material they submitted, subject to applicable law and the rights of other contributors.
Where removed material has already become part of shared continuity, removing the original page or contribution does not necessarily require deletion of every independent reference to an established event, relationship, consequence, affiliation, or other development elsewhere in the archive. StarForgeRP may revise or retain those independent references when reasonably necessary to keep the remaining continuity understandable, provided doing so does not reproduce removed material beyond what StarForgeRP is otherwise permitted to use.
Copies of removed material may remain temporarily in routine backups, technical archives, revision history, or administrative records after public removal where reasonably necessary for technical operation, security, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
Submission does not guarantee publication.
StarForgeRP may decline, edit, reorganize, archive, unpublish, restrict, or remove material when reasonably necessary for site organization, continuity, accuracy, readability, safety, legal compliance, rights concerns, technical reasons, or compatibility with the purpose of the archive.
This may include correcting lore classifications, distinguishing established lore from community-created material, identifying interpretation or uncertain information, consolidating duplicated material, correcting broken links, changing page structure, or relocating information to a more appropriate section of the site.
StarForgeRP may also decline or remove material that cannot reasonably be incorporated into the shared archive, that substantially conflicts with established continuity without appropriate explanation, or that would require StarForgeRP to publish material it does not have sufficient rights or permission to use.
StarForgeRP is not obligated to publish or permanently retain any particular contribution, page, feature, story record, image, link, or archive entry.
Original writing, graphics, logos, designs, and other material created specifically for StarForgeRP remain subject to the rights of their respective creators or rights holders.
Community contributors likewise retain the rights they hold in their original contributions, subject to the publication permission described in these Terms and any third-party intellectual property incorporated into those works.
You may link to publicly available StarForgeRP pages.
Unless you have permission or applicable law independently allows the use, you should not copy, republish, sell, redistribute, or present substantial portions of original StarForgeRP material or another contributor's original work as though it were your own.
The fact that artwork, screenshots, writing, graphics, or other material appears on StarForgeRP does not mean that StarForgeRP owns that material or can grant permission to reuse material belonging to Lucasfilm, Disney, Electronic Arts, Broadsword, another contributor, an artist, photographer, or any other third party.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to restrict a use that you are independently entitled to make under applicable law.
StarForgeRP is a fan-created reference and roleplay archive. It is not an official Star Wars or Star Wars: The Old Republic source.
Pages may contain a combination of established SWTOR material, compatible Star Wars Legends material, StarForgeRP community-created continuity, interpretation, extrapolation, and other expanded material. StarForgeRP aims to distinguish those categories where the distinction matters, but errors, incomplete information, uncertain dating, outdated material, or differing interpretations may still occur.
The archive may also change as official SWTOR material develops, research improves, continuity questions are resolved, or community roleplay creates new circumstances.
For the site's approach to established lore, Legends material, interpretation, and community continuity, see Continuity & Canon.
StarForgeRP does not guarantee that every page is complete, error-free, officially canonical, or permanently current.
StarForgeRP is hosted using Google Sites and may use or link to other third-party websites, hosting services, files, embeds, communication platforms, forms, or tools.
Those services are operated independently from StarForgeRP and may have their own terms, privacy practices, account requirements, content policies, availability, and technical limitations.
Using StarForgeRP does not replace, amend, or override any separate agreement you may have with Google, Electronic Arts, Broadsword, Discord, or another third-party provider.
StarForgeRP does not control and is not responsible for the availability, security, content, policies, or actions of a third-party website or service merely because it is linked to, embedded in, or used alongside the archive.
These Terms should be read together with the StarForgeRP Privacy Policy.
Do not submit private, sensitive, or personally identifying information about yourself or another person unless it is genuinely necessary, appropriate for the purpose for which it is being provided, and you are entitled to provide it.
Player-facing information such as a public username, roleplay handle, attribution name, or preferred contact method should be published only with the knowledge of the person it identifies.
Because publicly published material may be viewed, indexed, copied, or referenced by people outside the immediate roleplay community, contributors should avoid including information that is unnecessary for the archive's roleplay or reference purpose.
Google and other third-party services used alongside StarForgeRP may separately process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
StarForgeRP is an evolving archive. Pages, features, organization, URLs, continuity information, contributions, and other material may be added, revised, moved, archived, restricted, or removed over time.
StarForgeRP does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or permanent preservation of every page, contribution, link, image, feature, or service.
These Terms may also be revised when the site, its community practices, third-party services, or applicable legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
Revised Terms apply from the date they are published unless otherwise stated. A revision will not retroactively expand StarForgeRP's rights in an existing contribution beyond the permission previously granted where additional agreement is required by applicable law.
StarForgeRP is provided as a community fan resource on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, StarForgeRP makes no guarantee regarding the uninterrupted availability, completeness, accuracy, reliability, security, compatibility, or suitability of the website or its content.
Users remain responsible for decisions they make in reliance on material found through the archive and for their use of third-party services, links, downloads, files, or resources encountered through or alongside StarForgeRP.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, StarForgeRP and its operators or administrators will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of or inability to use the site, reliance on archive content, community-submitted material, or third-party services linked to or used alongside StarForgeRP.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or limits any right, remedy, warranty, guarantee, or responsibility that applicable law does not permit to be excluded, restricted, or limited.
If you believe material on StarForgeRP infringes your copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights, or if you believe content or a contribution has been attributed to you incorrectly, please contact StarForgeRP through the Contact page.
When reporting a concern, provide enough information to identify and locate the material in question, explain the nature of the issue, identify the right or interest affected where relevant, and provide a reasonable way for StarForgeRP to respond.
StarForgeRP may temporarily remove, restrict, or revise material while a legitimate rights, attribution, privacy, or ownership concern is reviewed.
Questions about these Terms may also be submitted through the Contact page.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable under applicable law, that provision will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
