Terms of Use

These Terms explain the conditions for using StarForgeRP and providing material for possible publication in its public archive.

StarForgeRP is an independent, community-created reference and story archive for Star Wars: The Old Republic roleplay, centered on characters played on the Star Forge server. Roleplay may take place in SWTOR, through Discord, or through another format agreed upon by participants. About StarForgeRP explains the project’s purpose.

By using StarForgeRP, you agree to follow these Terms to the extent applicable under law. Where a submission process requires express acceptance, complete that process only if you agree to the applicable Terms.

StarForgeRP is an unofficial fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by Lucasfilm Ltd., The Walt Disney Company, Electronic Arts Inc., Broadsword Online Games, Inc., or their affiliates.

Rights in Star Wars, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and their associated names, characters, settings, trademarks, imagery, and game material belong to their respective rights holders. StarForgeRP does not claim ownership of that underlying material.

You may browse the public archive to explore characters, stories, history, locations, lore, guides, and roleplay opportunities.

Do not knowingly use StarForgeRP to:

• Break applicable law or violate another person’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other protected rights.

• Harass, threaten, stalk, impersonate, defame, or deliberately target a real person.

• Disclose another person’s private or sensitive information without appropriate permission.

• Provide material you are not entitled to share, including confidential, unlawfully obtained, leaked, embargoed, or other non-public material.

• Misrepresent authorship or contributions, or falsely attribute statements, participation, character decisions, or agreed outcomes to another person.

• Distribute malware, compromise accounts, bypass access restrictions, or disrupt the site or associated technical systems.

• Materially interfere with the archive’s operation or community purpose.

Stories may involve conflict, deception, violence, crime, injury, loss, and other difficult subjects. Fictional events do not excuse harmful conduct toward real participants.

StarForgeRP may accept character dossiers, stories, histories, organizations, locations, event records, artwork, screenshots, and other material relevant to the shared archive.

You are responsible for what you provide. Contribute material only when you created it, have the necessary permission, or are otherwise legally entitled to supply it for its intended publication and editorial handling.

Permission to use someone’s writing or artwork is separate from agreement about their character. Do not establish a substantial relationship, affiliation, action, history, or outcome for another player’s character unless it was established through coordinated roleplay or otherwise agreed with the relevant participant.

Public Contributions & Private Correspondence

Accepted contributions may appear on public pages, connect to other archive entries, become searchable, and remain available as part of the shared historical record. External services and visitors may index, copy, quote, or preserve public material.

Do not include confidential real-world information or personal details that should remain private. Include a player handle, credit, or contact method for publication only when the person identified understands and agrees that it may be public.

An in-character secret placed on a public page can still be read by players and other visitors. Reading it does not give a character knowledge of it.

Information provided privately for an administrative question, correction, privacy request, or rights concern is not automatically a contribution intended for publication.

Ownership

Contributing material does not transfer ownership of the original rights you legally hold.

Those rights do not extend to underlying Star Wars material or other third-party work merely because it appears in your contribution. In collaborative material, each participant’s rights remain subject to their own authorship, permissions, and applicable agreements.

Submitting a shared record does not make you the owner of another participant’s contribution.

Permission to Publish & Preserve

When you voluntarily provide original material for publication, you grant StarForgeRP non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, reproduce, display, publish, format, organize, edit, adapt, and archive it as reasonably necessary to operate and preserve the project. You grant this permission only to the extent you are entitled to do so.

This includes using relevant portions in summaries, directories, timelines, related records, featured material, and navigation that document or connect the shared setting.

StarForgeRP may use hosting, storage, backup, processing, and other service providers as reasonably necessary to carry out those purposes.

This permission does not transfer ownership or supply rights in third-party material that you cannot grant. Its continuation is limited to what is reasonably necessary under these Terms, including the correction, removal, remaining-reference, and technical-retention circumstances described below, subject to applicable law.

Editorial Changes

StarForgeRP may edit contributions for spelling, grammar, clarity, accessibility, formatting, terminology, organization, internal links, continuity classification, and technical presentation.

Information may be summarized or incorporated into related records when an established development affects several subjects.

Editorial changes should preserve the contribution’s intended substance. Changes that would materially alter a player-created character’s identity, history, established actions, motivations, or relationships should normally be coordinated with the relevant contributor where reasonably practical.

Corrections, Updates & Removal

You may request corrections or updates to your contributions. Changes affecting shared events or collaborative material may require consideration of other participants’ established contributions.

You may also request public removal of original material you submitted, subject to applicable law and other contributors’ rights.

Removing a contribution does not necessarily remove every independently maintained reference to shared events, relationships, affiliations, or consequences. Remaining references may be retained or revised where needed to keep the archive understandable, but must not reproduce removed material beyond rights StarForgeRP otherwise possesses.

Copies may remain temporarily in backups, revision histories, technical archives, or administrative records where reasonably necessary for operation, security, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Removal from StarForgeRP cannot guarantee deletion of copies held independently by others.

Providing material does not guarantee publication.

StarForgeRP may decline, edit, reorganize, restrict, archive, unpublish, or remove material for reasonable editorial, continuity, accessibility, safety, legal, rights, or technical reasons.

This may include clarifying lore classifications, correcting errors, identifying uncertainty, consolidating repeated information, repairing links, or placing information with the subject it explains.

Material may be declined when it substantially conflicts with established continuity without adequate explanation, cannot reasonably be incorporated into the archive, or lacks sufficient publication rights.

You may link to public StarForgeRP pages.

Original writing, artwork, graphics, designs, and other protected material remain subject to their creators’ or other rights holders’ rights. Publication on this site does not make that material freely reusable.

Unless the relevant rights holder permits it or applicable law allows it, do not copy, republish, redistribute, or sell protected material. Do not present another person’s work as your own.

StarForgeRP cannot grant permission to reuse someone else’s material merely because it appears in the archive. Attribution alone does not establish permission.

The archive brings together SWTOR sources, compatible Legends material, community-created history, interpretation, and unresolved information. Continuity & Canon explains how StarForgeRP distinguishes and uses these categories.

Pages may contain mistakes, incomplete information, disputed accounts, or outdated details. Records may change as research improves, continuity questions are resolved, and roleplay develops.

New official material does not automatically advance StarForgeRP’s adopted setting or replace established community history.

StarForgeRP uses Google Sites and may include links or embedded content from independent services.

Those providers set their own terms, privacy practices, account requirements, content rules, and technical conditions. These Terms do not replace agreements you separately have with Google, SWTOR service providers, Discord, or other third parties.

The Privacy Policy explains how StarForgeRP handles personal information, including public player identifiers and administrative correspondence.

Provide only personal information appropriate and reasonably necessary for your purpose. Do not supply another person’s private or sensitive information without an appropriate reason and permission.

StarForgeRP is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, do not provide personal information to the project.

Public material can remain in search results, screenshots, caches, or other external copies. Avoid unnecessary real-world identifying information in archive contributions.

Pages, URLs, organization, images, features, and other material may be added, revised, moved, restricted, archived, or removed as the archive develops.

StarForgeRP may revise these Terms as its practices, services, or applicable legal requirements change.

The version published on this page will carry its revision date. Unless stated otherwise, revised Terms apply from publication.

StarForgeRP is offered as a community fan resource on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, StarForgeRP provides no guarantee of availability, accuracy, completeness, reliability, security, compatibility, or suitability.

Visitors and contributors remain responsible for their decisions when relying on archive information or using external services, files, links, and other resources.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, StarForgeRP and its operators or administrators are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from site use, inability to access it, reliance on archive content, community contributions, or independent third-party services.

Identify the relevant page and material, explain the concern and affected right where applicable, and provide a suitable way to respond. Include only information reasonably necessary to review the request.
