Dragon's Maw Extraction

Dragon’s Maw Extraction was a covert rescue carried out during Empress Vaylin’s Grand Festival on Zakuul. Bella Tenebrix falsified a detention-transfer route, creating the opening through which Brina Tenebrix extracted detained Overwatch Captains Kylia Tille and Raeya Tille from the Palace of the Eternal Dragon.

The immediate objective was to interrupt the Tilles’ detention transfer without requiring control of the wider palace operation. Bella needed the altered instructions to appear sufficiently legitimate for the transfer to leave its intended custody path. Brina then needed to reach the diverted route and move both detainees out while palace security was rapidly deteriorating.

After escaping Iokath and regaining control of the GEMINI droids commanding the Eternal Fleet, Vaylin announced a Grand Festival at the heart of the Eternal Empire. Her attendant Indo Zal was secretly assisting the Alliance, allowing the Alliance Commander and Theron Shan to infiltrate the celebration as part of a wider operation against Vaylin.

The Alliance operation included an effort to free imprisoned rebels. Arcann’s separate attack disrupted the confrontation, Vaylin escaped, and she ordered the Eternal Fleet to bombard the palace. The resulting crisis created the deteriorating security conditions in which the Tille extraction unfolded.

Kylia and Raeya were cousins whose separate administrative careers had brought them into Overwatch-associated records, authorization, and review work. Their Captain titles reflected specialist administrative standing rather than a shared command role, and they were detained for different reasons.

Following the Overwatch raid, Kylia assisted reconstruction of damaged records from surviving copies. The work exposed conflicting authorizations, altered audit histories, detention-routing discrepancies, and omitted civilian consequences. She pursued authorized review before moving authenticated evidence outside approved custody when those channels failed to preserve or resolve it. Investigation and detention followed.

Raeya encountered a different problem: an altered detention-transfer chain concealed a punitive disposition behind apparently routine procedure. She refused to certify it, filed an objection, and preserved evidence. Her clearance was revoked, and she was detained on allegations including obstruction, disloyalty, and sedition.

Bella’s Diversion

Bella used her palace-security access to change the transfer’s destination, routing priority, and security classification. The altered instructions redirected Kylia and Raeya away from their intended custody path.

The diversion depended upon personnel and systems accepting the altered instructions long enough for the transfer to proceed along the false route. The surviving history establishes that Bella made the alteration but does not establish her precise technical method.

Brina’s Intervention

Brina left her assigned security position, reached the diverted transfer route, and brought Kylia and Raeya through the palace as security conditions deteriorated.

The extraction ended Brina’s viable place within Vaylin’s security apparatus. Her later transition into recovery work developed over subsequent years rather than beginning as an immediate replacement career.

The primary objective succeeded. All four participants survived, and Kylia and Raeya escaped Zakuulan custody. They subsequently entered monitored Eternal Alliance custody, including debriefing and review before gradually receiving trusted civilian responsibilities.

The extraction also left a durable evidentiary problem. Bella’s altered transfer was a genuine institutional record containing deliberately false routing information. Its authenticity therefore does not make every statement within it factually accurate. That distinction later became relevant to Grey Ledger investigations, where provenance, recorded contents, and independent evidence of what physically occurred must be evaluated separately.

Bella’s established alteration does not by itself reconstruct Brina’s movements or prove that unrelated discrepancies share the same cause. Later custodians might also preserve an authentic copy without knowing that its routing information had been falsified.

This mission record is player-facing history. Characters require a believable route to the information they use, consistent with the Roleplay Guidelines.

• Compare surviving transfer documentation with Alliance intake and custody records.

• Seek independent physical, security, or witness evidence capable of reconstructing Brina’s movement through the palace.

• Establish when particular witnesses, officials, or later custodians first learned that the transfer had been diverted.

• Trace whether later recordkeepers corrected the false route or unknowingly preserved it as part of an authentic institutional record.

• Investigate whether the diversion affected other detainees, security personnel, or administrative decisions during the palace crisis.

• Determine which later evidence can establish a narrow fact without being mistaken for proof of the extraction’s entire sequence.

The participant dossiers preserve Bella, Brina, Kylia, and Raeya’s fuller histories, later circumstances, and individual information boundaries.
