The Aureline supports Czerka Interstellar recovery operations across multiple sectors, bringing coordination, medical stabilization, technical examination, and evidence custody together aboard a mobile working base. Smaller recovery craft undertake direct deployments, while the Aureline provides a recurring destination for preparation, specialist support, and the work that follows an extraction.

Work aboard the Aureline connects preparation with follow-through. Recovery teams need usable equipment and support before departure, while returning assignments bring medical, technical, and evidentiary demands. These activities often depend on one another: a damaged system may preserve information needed to assess a recovery, and examination of that information may affect the next deployment.

Verification continues after an item reaches secure storage. Specialists establish its origin, examine its handling history, and determine whether reconstruction supports a reliable finding. Bella Tenebrix works within these limits, testing what surviving material can establish rather than treating recovery or authentication as proof that every recorded claim is true.

Technical work has comparable consequences. RX-4 returns for maintenance and assessment between field assignments. Its observations can be compared with earlier recoveries, but servicing its hardware and preserving its accumulated experience raise different questions. A functioning replacement component does not, by itself, resolve what information or learned associations might have been lost.

A character’s reason for boarding determines the access their visit requires. A delivery, recovery assignment, consultation, or agreed examination can provide a legitimate entry point, but permission for one task does not open unrelated systems or records.

Shipboard command is responsible for vessel operations and safety. Lorim Vance, working through Recovery Oversight, administers assigned permissions, resources, liability conditions, personnel tasking, and custody decisions. Medical and technical findings remain the responsibility of the relevant specialists. An outside representative brings their own institutional obligations without automatically acquiring authority over the ship.

Custody & Records

Holding recovered material does not settle every claim concerning it. Ownership, inspection, copying, disclosure, and transfer may require separate decisions. Cooperation can therefore proceed around a particular question while other access remains restricted.

Protected records also require careful interpretation. An authentic document can contain incomplete or false information; an apparently significant correlation can fail when compared with independent evidence. Authorized handling preserves the opportunity to investigate those possibilities without determining the conclusion in advance.

The Aureline’s established significance centers on later recovery work associated with Meridian Recovery. That campaign follows the conflict surrounding Objective Meridian, the Republic–Imperial battle at a shipyard on Corellia. Participation in subsequent recovery operations does not establish that the vessel or its personnel took part in the original fighting.

The recovered material also intersects Grey Ledger, an investigation comparing accounts preserved by different institutions and individuals. The Aureline contributes a corporate recovery setting within that wider inquiry. Grey Ledger has no single comprehensive archive, and apparently similar discrepancies may have unrelated explanations.

In 3621 BBY, the RX-4 Recalibration Review opened with the Aureline among its working locations. The review connects diagnostic work with questions about operational reliability and preservation. Its opening does not establish a malfunction or predetermine a destructive reset.

Professional work, transport, a delivery, or an agreed visit can bring a character aboard without requiring membership in a major investigation. Scenes can begin with a bounded responsibility and develop through the people and decisions encountered along the way.

• Contribute an independent account that challenges an earlier casualty assessment.

• Work through the consequences of an earlier decision during a meal, maintenance period, or delayed departure.
