Aureline

The Aureline is a Czerka Interstellar operations vessel adapted to serve as the recurring mobile headquarters of a recovery task group working across multiple sectors. It provides the coordination, evidence-control, technical, logistical, medical, and administrative infrastructure needed to support recovery teams whose assignments cannot be managed effectively from a single planetary facility.

The vessel is a common point of convergence for Lorim Vance, Bella Tenebrix, Brina Tenebrix, and RX-4 without functioning as a permanent residence for every member of the group.

Brina and RX-4 regularly leave the Aureline aboard smaller recovery craft suited to direct field deployment. Bella moves between the vessel, other recovery platforms, evidence facilities, and transfer locations as verification requires. Lorim's oversight responsibilities make the Aureline the closest thing the task group possesses to a persistent operational headquarters.

The Aureline exists to keep recovery operations functioning between deployment and resolution.

Field teams require equipment, transport, medical preparation, environmental data, repair support, authorization, and somewhere to return when an extraction ends. Evidence may require documented transfer rather than immediate analysis. A damaged droid may need technical examination before another deployment. A casualty finding may need comparison against earlier telemetry. An outside institution may accept a recovery while disputing Czerka's right to retain what was recovered.

The vessel brings those functions close enough together to support continuing operations without erasing the distinctions between them.

Recovery personnel, pilots, engineers, medical staff, technicians, evidence handlers, administrators, security personnel, droids, contractors, and authorized specialists may therefore share the Aureline while possessing very different duties and access.

The Aureline is a Czerka-controlled working vessel rather than a public station. Boarding normally requires assignment, employment, authorized transport, a scheduled transfer, technical or professional business, an invitation, or another legitimate reason recognized by the personnel responsible for access.

Permission to board does not create unrestricted access.

A recovery specialist may enter staging areas without entering secured evidence storage. A technician may service RX-4 without receiving access to every piece of telemetry under review. An outside investigator may examine an agreed evidence set without gaining access to unrelated Czerka records. A visiting government or military representative likewise retains whatever authority their own institution provides without automatically acquiring command of a privately controlled corporate vessel.

Authority aboard the Aureline is divided by function. Shipboard command and flight personnel remain responsible for navigation, vessel safety, docking, engineering conditions, and immediate operational hazards. Recovery Oversight controls much of the Czerka authorization, resource allocation, assignment, liability, and evidence-custody process associated with the task group. Verification specialists determine what conclusions they can professionally support within their assigned role. Technical personnel retain responsibility for matters requiring their own expertise.

These overlapping responsibilities can produce disagreement without making every disagreement insubordination.

The Aureline entered its present StarForgeRP role as Czerka Interstellar recovery work surrounding Meridian Recovery became increasingly difficult to separate from evidence custody, missing-person records, technical review, and the wider contradictions associated with Grey Ledger.

Rather than placing every specialist aboard the same field craft, Czerka uses the Aureline as a recurring coordination point from which smaller recovery assets can deploy and to which personnel, evidence, telemetry, and unresolved decisions can return.

That structure has become particularly important around RX-4 Recalibration Review. RX-4 may require legitimate technical intervention, yet its retained memory also contains operational relationships and historical telemetry that may matter to later review. The Aureline therefore provides a believable setting in which technical maintenance, evidence preservation, field evaluation, corporate authority, and developed personal relationships can collide without any one participant automatically controlling the outcome.

The Aureline works best when its mobile, professional, and compartmentalized character changes what participants can do. Characters do not need to work for Czerka or belong to Meridian Recovery to have a believable reason to come aboard.

• Return from an extraction with an injured survivor, damaged equipment, uncertain telemetry, or evidence whose custody is disputed

• Technical inspection, repair, calibration, or specialist evaluation of RX-4 or another recovered system

• Verification of a damaged record whose authenticity and meaning produce different answers

• Negotiation over whether another institution may examine, retain, copy, transfer, or independently test material in Czerka custody

• A medical, engineering, environmental, or technical specialist temporarily attached to a recovery operation

• An audit, liability review, authorization dispute, or challenge to the conditions under which a mission was approved

• A delayed departure caused by repairs, insufficient evidence, missing authorization, worsening conditions, or disagreement over acceptable risk

• A visiting investigator or custodian arriving with independently preserved evidence that contradicts something aboard the vessel

• Crew downtime, meals, maintenance routines, private conversations, or interpersonal disagreements between deployments

• A security incident involving credentials, restricted storage, damaged systems, unexpected docking activity, or a transfer that does not match its documentation

• A field emergency that forces personnel to choose between preserving procedure and acting before a recovery window closes

Not every problem aboard the Aureline needs to reveal conspiracy or hidden wrongdoing. Its strongest recurring stories can begin with legitimate responsibilities that conflict: a verifier who needs more evidence, a recovery operative who believes delay will cost a life, a technician who cannot guarantee a reversible intervention, an administrator who must justify the risk, or an outside custodian who possesses a valid reason not to surrender control.
