Coronet City is the capital of Corellia and one of the world's principal centers of government, commerce, industry, transportation, and cultural life. SWTOR calls it the “Jewel of Corellia,” presenting a metropolis where towers, factories, offices, and transport infrastructure exist beside deliberately preserved parks, museums, monuments, and other green civic spaces.
That mixture is central to Coronet's identity. It is prosperous without being uniformly wealthy, industrial without being defined only by factories, and distinctly Corellian without representing every community on the planet. Corporate employees, civil servants, shipwrights, freight crews, artists, investigators, merchants, engineers, travelers, students, soldiers, tourists, criminals, and ordinary residents can all experience very different parts of the same enormous city.
Coronet's cultural reputation is as important as its political and economic influence. SWTOR describes the capital as a destination for young artists seeking recognition and associates it with museums, tourism, public landmarks, and fashionable urban life alongside its more familiar shipyards and corporate towers.
For roleplay, that breadth makes Coronet useful as a recurring setting. Characters do not need access to planetary leaders, famous Jedi, or major military operations to have believable reasons to live, work, travel, investigate, trade, socialize, or become involved in something that matters locally.

Coronet is one of the clearest expressions of the Corellian preference for combining technological development with access to the natural environment. SWTOR contrasts the city with the denser urban landscape of Coruscant, describing tree-lined parks, reflection pools, museums, monuments, and preserved civic land among towers, transit lines, factories, offices, and commercial districts.
That does not make Coronet uniformly affluent or idyllic. Its prosperity depends upon enormous workforces and industries whose employees experience the city very differently from corporate executives, politicians, tourists, or wealthy residents. Labor Valley supported millions of middle-class livelihoods before the original Battle of Corellia, while the Incorporation Islands concentrated extraordinary corporate wealth in districts substantially controlled by individual enterprises.
Culture is equally visible. Museums, public landmarks, tourism, literature, art, wildlife conservation, entertainment, and urban social life all belong within Coronet's identity. The renowned Coronet Zoo and Museum of Fine Art are reminders that the capital's reputation extends well beyond government offices and starship manufacturing.
A character's neighborhood, profession, family circumstances, and social connections may therefore matter more to their experience of Coronet than the simple fact that they live in the planetary capital. A mechanic near the shipyards, a CorSec investigator, a museum curator, a factory technician, a corporate employee, and a government clerk can all be equally rooted in the city without sharing the same version of it.
Axial Park is the clearest expression of Coronet's investment in public green space. Corellian planners devoted valuable central land to parks, museums, landmarks, trees, reflection areas, and other civic spaces even within one of the galaxy's great industrial capitals. During the Imperial invasion, bombardment damaged the district and several cultural institutions were converted into defensive positions.
The district also includes the renowned Coronet Zoo, whose expensive wildlife enclosures and specialist curatorial work attracted galactic recognition before battle damage released animals into the surrounding city. Outside wartime conditions, Axial Park provides a natural setting for museums, education, tourism, public ceremonies, demonstrations, festivals, memorials, research, dates, investigations, and chance encounters away from Coronet's heavier industrial districts.
The Government District contains institutions associated with Corellia's planetary political life. During the original invasion, fighting surrounded the Legislature, the Drall Library, private political estates, and positions defended by Corellian forces and the Green Jedi. SWTOR describes the prewar district as one of the grandest expressions of Corellia's wealth and political confidence.
Public plazas, administrative offices, archives, political residences, government workplaces, cultural institutions, and secured facilities create different levels of access within the same district. Civil servants, politicians, lobbyists, lawyers, journalists, investigators, diplomats, petitioners, security personnel, contractors, and corporate representatives may all have legitimate reasons to conduct business there without implying unrestricted access to sensitive government spaces.
Labor Valley represents Coronet's industrial scale. Before the Battle of Corellia, dozens of interconnected factories manufactured products ranging from raw durasteel to hyperdrives and other advanced equipment. SWTOR describes millions of middle-class Corellians as depending upon the district for their livelihoods before warfare destroyed or damaged major parts of its industrial base.
The district naturally supports engineers, mechanics, production workers, technicians, safety personnel, inspectors, freight crews, corporate managers, contractors, medical responders, security staff, investigators, and businesses serving an enormous industrial workforce. Accidents, quality problems, labor disputes, missing cargo, sabotage, corporate pressure, reconstruction, and criminal interest in valuable equipment can all create locally important stories.
The Incorporation Islands concentrate some of Corellia's most powerful commercial interests. SWTOR describes immense corporate towers and areas largely owned and controlled by galaxy-spanning enterprises whose economic activity affects markets far beyond the planet. During the Imperial invasion, some companies possessed enough private security and combat droids to resist occupation directly.
For everyday life, that concentration of private power creates an environment different from an ordinary municipal neighborhood. Corporate employment, contract negotiations, private security, legal disputes, industrial espionage, technical research, investment, lobbying, executive rivalry, regulation, deliveries, and professional networking can all shape who enters an area and whose authority matters once they arrive.
The Blastfield Shipyards connect Coronet directly to Corellia's enormous starship economy. Before the Imperial invasion, SWTOR describes thousands of vessels being built or serviced there each day by hundreds of businesses, with specialist mechanics, construction yards, luxury-vessel facilities, cantinas, and entertainment districts supporting workers and visiting crews.
Coronet Shipping provides another major connection to offworld commerce. Before the war it was described as Corellia's busiest trade hub, handling freight arriving from across the galaxy, including both legitimate and illicit cargo.
Together, these facilities make Coronet's shipbuilding and freight districts particularly useful for pilots, merchants, mechanics, customs personnel, contractors, passengers, transport companies, smugglers, repair crews, military logistics personnel, and characters who simply need a believable point of arrival.
Coronet is the seat of Corellia's planetary government, but those institutions have changed across the world's long history. During SWTOR's original Corellia campaign, the government consisted of an elected council representing major population districts, with a prime minister chosen by the council. Imperial manipulation of that government and the council's eventual alignment with the Sith Empire were circumstances of the invasion rather than a permanent description of Corellian government.
For broader planetary government, political culture, and Corellia's relationship with the Republic, see Corellia. Within Coronet itself, the practical result is a city where public institutions and powerful private interests operate unusually close together. SWTOR repeatedly associates Corellian political life with major corporate influence, strong personal and economic freedoms, and corruption existing beside legitimate government and commerce.
Law enforcement is principally associated with the Corellian Security Force, or CorSec. SWTOR identifies CorSec as Corellia's primary law-enforcement organization and gives it responsibilities extending beyond ordinary patrol work into criminal investigation, computer science, diplomacy, tactical response, and specialized undercover operations.
That combination allows law, politics, corporations, and crime to intersect without making every official corrupt or every business criminal. Jurisdictional disputes, investigations, political pressure, private security, legitimate lobbying, bribery, organized crime, regulatory conflict, and professional cooperation can all exist within the same city.
Coronet's rocket-tram system provides inexpensive rapid transit throughout the city. SWTOR describes the network as popular and extensive, with corporations competing for technology contracts and advertising opportunities connected to the system. Its routes eventually became complex enough that specially designed droids were entrusted with directing operations.
The network helps establish Coronet as one connected metropolitan environment rather than a collection of isolated gameplay zones. Characters can plausibly move through the capital without owning a personal starship or speeder, while stations, crowds, maintenance problems, security checks, damaged infrastructure, delays, missing cargo, or disrupted routes can themselves provide useful scene circumstances.
Offworld access is equally important. Shipyards, landing facilities, freight operations, commercial traffic, Republic movements, private vessels, and travelers connect Coronet to the wider galaxy. War can transform those transportation systems into strategic objectives, but in ordinary conditions they are part of the city's everyday economic and social life.
The original Battle of Corellia changed Coronet profoundly. Imperial agents spent years compromising senior political figures before the Corellian council aligned itself with the Sith Empire and attempted to transfer the planet into Imperial control. The decision triggered resistance rather than peaceful submission, and fighting spread through the capital's parks, industrial districts, shipyards, corporate centers, government facilities, and transportation infrastructure.
Individual districts experienced the conflict differently. Labor Valley suffered catastrophic industrial destruction. Axial Park's museums and landscaped civic areas became fortified positions. The Government District became a major battlefield, while Blastfield Shipyards served as critical Republic infrastructure. Coronet's wartime history is therefore embedded in places that possessed important civilian functions before they became military objectives.
Open Republic–Imperial warfare later returned to Corellia during Onslaught, when the Sith Empire attacked the newly constructed Meridian Complex shipyard. That later battle reaffirmed the planet's continuing strategic importance without making every older Coronet district part of the same battlefield.
In StarForgeRP's present-day continuity, Coronet is a functioning major capital shaped by the consequences of those conflicts rather than a city permanently frozen in wartime ruin. Rebuilt infrastructure can exist beside older damaged properties, memorials, altered neighborhoods, surviving defensive works, institutional distrust, veterans, displaced families, and communities whose recovery followed different paths.
That mixture gives Coronet unusual value for persistent local roleplay. Homes, workplaces, businesses, professional networks, family connections, investigations, rivalries, contracts, neighborhood problems, and the consequences of earlier stories can continue to matter long after a battle or campaign ends.
