Korriban Garrison supports the conventional Imperial military presence surrounding Korriban's Sith institutions. Its command centers, battalion facilities, checkpoints, medical stations, logistics compounds, communications systems, detention-support areas, engineering sites, and secured review facilities allow the Imperial Army to protect approaches, move personnel and supplies, respond to emergencies, and sustain operations on a world where military responsibility frequently meets Sith authority.
The garrison is not one isolated fortress. It is a connected network of Army-administered facilities distributed around the controlled approaches and support sectors serving Korriban's active Imperial presence.
That distinction matters. Soldiers may be responsible for a checkpoint without possessing authority inside the Sith Academy. A medical officer may determine evacuation priority without controlling the route required to move the casualty. A senior Army commander may direct thousands of personnel while remaining unable to claim another institution's archives, relics, doctrinal responsibilities, or jurisdiction merely because those responsibilities exist on the same planet.
For the wider galactic circumstances surrounding the posting, see Current Setting.
Korriban Garrison exists to provide the conventional military structure required around one of the Sith Empire's most restricted and symbolically important worlds.
Army personnel maintain outer security, checkpoints, observation positions, sensor coverage, transportation, convoy movement, logistics, engineering, communications, detention support, emergency response, and other infrastructure that does not require the Sith Academy itself to perform ordinary military administration.
Much of the work is routine. Personnel stand watches, inspect equipment, reconcile supplies, maintain vehicles and communications systems, process movement requests, transport cargo, treat injuries, update readiness reports, review incidents, and prepare for emergencies that may never occur.
Korriban makes those ordinary responsibilities unusually consequential. Archaeological accidents, dangerous wildlife, restricted ruins, Sith activity, visiting authorities, damaged infrastructure, security incidents, and jurisdictional disputes can all turn routine support work into an operational problem.
The garrison therefore creates recurring contact between soldiers, officers, medics, engineers, technicians, transport personnel, logisticians, security staff, records personnel, droids, authorized specialists, Sith authorities, contractors, witnesses, casualties, and visitors whose reasons for being present may be entirely different.
Garrison Command Center — Formation-level command, readiness coordination, operational reporting, senior staff work, command reviews, escalation decisions, and coordination affecting the wider Army presence on Korriban.
1st Perimeter Battalion Facilities — Command and support spaces associated with perimeter security, observation posts, sensor coverage, Army-controlled approaches, convoy verification, casualty accountability, and related operational review.
2nd Containment Battalion Facilities — Command spaces supporting containment, movement control, checkpoints, emergency lockdowns, evacuation support, external security, and response around sensitive Army-administered sectors.
Medical & Casualty Facilities — Treatment, stabilization, casualty processing, evacuation coordination, medical supply, and clinical recordkeeping areas supporting Imperial personnel across the garrison and assignment-dependent operations elsewhere on Korriban.
Logistics & Convoy Compounds — Staging areas, supply storage, transportation coordination, manifest processing, vehicle support, and movement-control infrastructure required to sustain the installation.
Engineering & Communications Sites — Secured technical areas maintaining communications, sensors, power, defensive systems, infrastructure, repair capabilities, and other systems on which command continuity depends.
Checkpoints, Observation Posts & Outer Security Positions — Distributed Army-controlled sites protecting approaches, monitoring movement, verifying credentials, supporting patrols, and providing the first military response to problems occurring outside directly Sith-controlled spaces.
Detention & Transfer Facilities — Controlled areas supporting temporary military detention, prisoner movement, guarded transfers, and other custody requirements within valid Army authority.
Review & Evidence Facilities — Secured rooms used for formal reviews, authenticated record comparison, chain-of-custody procedures, protected evidence, command-accountability work, and transfers between authorized custodians.
Access to Korriban Garrison depends upon assignment, credentials, purpose, and the specific facility involved.
Military affiliation alone does not provide unrestricted movement. A soldier assigned to a perimeter post does not automatically possess access to senior command records. A battalion officer does not automatically gain access to another unit's protected files. A visitor admitted for medical treatment, technical work, transport, testimony, or a command meeting may have no legitimate reason to enter operationally unrelated areas.
The same principle applies beyond the garrison.
Army responsibility for security and support does not make Korriban a conventional military world under one uninterrupted chain of command. The Sith Academy, Sith-controlled spaces, doctrinal matters, tomb operations, relic activity, Imperial Guard responsibilities, intelligence functions, and other specialized jurisdictions may fall outside ordinary Army authority even when military personnel operate nearby.
Professional authority can also remain distinct within the garrison. Medical personnel may determine clinical findings and treatment priorities without becoming ordinary Army command staff. Evidence custodians may authenticate a record without deciding the disciplinary conclusion drawn from it. Outside reviewers may possess valid authority for a defined inquiry without becoming permanent commanders of the installation.
Security therefore depends upon compartmentalization as much as physical force. Credentials, authenticated orders, protected records, restricted systems, guarded transfers, controlled storage, communications security, observation, and documented overrides are intended to make access defensible.
Those protections are not absolute. Damaged infrastructure, conflicting orders, compromised credentials, emergency conditions, missing records, political intervention, human error, institutional disagreement, or deliberate intrusion can still create meaningful risks.
The Sith Empire's military presence on Korriban predates StarForgeRP's present-day garrison structure. During the SWTOR era, Imperial soldiers were already stationed on the world to protect Imperial infrastructure and support activity beyond the Sith Academy itself.
The exact founding date and complete organizational history of the present Korriban Garrison are not established in StarForgeRP continuity. Its modern structure should therefore not be projected backward unchanged across every earlier period of Imperial control.
In 3621 BBY, Colonel Veyra Dren assumed command of an understrength provisional Army formation responsible for much of Korriban's Army-administered security, logistics, transportation, engineering, communications, detention support, readiness, and related infrastructure.
That same period brought the Ash Corridor failure and the accountability work that followed it. Casualty, communications, movement, procurement, command, and evidence-custody questions subjected parts of the garrison's procedures to continuing review while the installation still had to perform its ordinary responsibilities.
The resulting tension is important to the location's continuing identity.
Korriban Garrison is not an abandoned disaster site or an investigation office masquerading as a military base. It remains an operating installation. The reviews matter because checkpoints still require staffing, casualties still require treatment, convoys still move, communications still fail, officers still make decisions, and personnel still depend upon systems whose reliability has become part of what is being questioned.
Several StarForgeRP characters encounter the garrison through responsibilities that overlap without becoming interchangeable.
Colonel Veyra Dren operates at formation level, coordinating the Army-administered infrastructure and commands for which she is responsible.
Major Sara Kenau commands the 1st Perimeter Battalion and conducts authorized operational reconstruction involving casualty, convoy, readiness, communications, procurement, and command records.
Major Tarika Kenau commands the 2nd Containment Battalion while continuing to operate under corrective oversight arising from earlier command failures and the Ash Corridor review.
Captain Maxir Korden provisionally commands Delta Response & Enforcement Company within the 2nd Containment Battalion. His company conducts patrols, checkpoint security, convoy protection, route control, and external containment across Army-administered sectors of Korriban. Formal censure and restrictions on escalation and heavy-weapons authority place portions of his command under additional oversight, while continuing review of Ash Corridor examines decisions and records affecting his continued suitability for command.
PX-21 works primarily from the 1st Perimeter Battalion's command facilities as a verification and command-support droid responsible for authentication, evidence custody, and the preservation of defensible Army records.
Lieutenant Gavin Rin operates through the garrison's Medical Corps facilities and rotating medical staging sites, maintaining clinical independence while cooperating with Army commands over casualty care, evacuation, access, transport, and mortality review.
Their proximity does not merge their authority.
A command order, medical conclusion, authenticated record, disciplinary judgment, custody decision, and Sith mandate may all concern the same incident while answering different questions.
Korriban Garrison is most useful when ordinary military life and unusual institutional pressure exist in the same place.
A scene does not need to concern senior command or a major investigation. A soldier can arrive for reassignment. A shuttle crew may be waiting for clearance. A medic may need a secure evacuation route. An engineer may discover that a sensor failure has produced unreliable checkpoint records. A courier may possess valid authority to deliver material without having permission to read it.
More consequential stories can emerge naturally from the same infrastructure.
Report for a new military, medical, technical, logistical, or administrative assignment.
Pass through a controlled checkpoint where valid credentials do not answer every access question.
Deliver personnel, supplies, equipment, records, or protected evidence between facilities.
Respond to a communications, sensor, power, transport, containment, or security failure.
Coordinate evacuation when clinical urgency and movement restrictions conflict.
Participate in a readiness inspection, command review, disciplinary proceeding, or retention hearing.
Compare two authenticated records that describe the same movement, casualty, order, or transfer differently.
Recover damaged equipment or evidence from an outer security sector.
Investigate a missing convoy, disputed manifest, failed checkpoint record, or custody break without assuming in advance that deliberate wrongdoing caused it.
Work near Academy-controlled territory where a legitimate Army responsibility ends at a jurisdictional boundary.
Escort a witness, prisoner, specialist, casualty, visiting authority, or sensitive transfer through controlled portions of the installation.
Serve in a later operation where corrective procedures created after Ash Corridor are tested under real-time pressure.
The garrison is especially suited to stories about responsibility under constraint.
Characters may possess legitimate authority without possessing enough information, accurate information without possessing authority to act upon it, expertise without control over the resources they require, or access to one part of a problem without access to another.
Those limitations create reasons for characters to work together—and reasons for competent people acting in good faith to disagree.
Ash Corridor remains the principal shared story concerning the garrison's command-accountability problems. The incident and its investigation affect casualty review, communications, movement control, evidence custody, readiness, delegation, and relationships among several of the officers and specialists stationed here.
Some records uncovered through that work also intersect with the Grey Ledger, a wider pattern of contradictions among independently maintained records. That connection does not make Korriban Garrison the headquarters of the Grey Ledger or establish that every discrepancy discovered here shares one cause.
