**Title**
Dantooine
**Small Text / Caption**
A pastoral Republic world where farming communities, military logistics, ancient Jedi ruins, seasonal celebration, and an expanding ecological crisis meet on the edge of Imperial space.
**Heading**
Overview
**Standard Text**
Dantooine is a remote agricultural world in the Raioballo sector of the Outer Rim. Broad grasslands, cultivated fields, waterways, wooded country, hardy blba trees, and widely separated settlements give much of the planet a quiet rural character. That appearance can be deceptive. In the SWTOR era, Dantooine has become an important Republic supply world, military resupply point, archaeological site, and repeated target for hostile operations.
Agriculture remains the foundation of ordinary life. Long-established communities coexist with newer infrastructure, Republic military installations, offworld contractors, researchers, traders, and other visitors drawn by the planet's growing strategic value. Dantooine therefore supports stories about civilians and local communities just as naturally as it supports soldiers, Jedi, archaeologists, smugglers, or investigators.
Its history is visible almost everywhere. Ancient Rakatan traces remain beneath a world later associated with one of the Jedi Order's most famous enclaves. Modern farms and military facilities occupy the same planet where pirates and covert Imperial forces have attacked Republic interests, while the wreckage of the research vessel Jannimak has introduced an entirely different environmental threat.
**Image / Photo — Optional**
Suggested Placement:
Immediately below the Overview.
Suggested Subject / Description:
A wide view of SWTOR-era Dantooine emphasizing its ordinary identity before its conflicts: rolling grasslands, cultivated farmland, mature blba trees, scattered rural structures, and modest Republic-era agricultural or logistical infrastructure in the distance. The scene should establish that Dantooine is inhabited and productive without making it appear urbanized or dominated by military activity.
Suggested Format:
4:3 landscape website image.
Visual Continuity:
Use the same dimensions, rendering quality, and restrained cinematic presentation as the later Jedi Enclave and Jannimak images. This should be the calmest and broadest of the three images.
Era / Lore Requirements:
Architecture, machinery, vehicles, and agricultural technology should fit the SWTOR / Old Republic era. Do not replace the rural landscape with later-era Rebel or Galactic Empire imagery. Blba trees should appear as broad, sturdy trees with irregular branching rather than generic Earth farmland trees.
Recommended Alt Text:
Rolling Dantooine grasslands and cultivated fields with blba trees and distant Republic-era agricultural infrastructure.
Image Subject:
Dantooine during the SWTOR era, viewed across broad fertile grasslands and working agricultural country. Cultivated fields occupy part of the landscape while uncultivated green and lavender-toned grasses extend across rolling hills. Several mature blba trees with broad trunks and irregular spreading branches provide distinctive landmarks. Small rural farm structures and restrained Old Republic-era agricultural machinery appear in the middle distance, with modest Republic logistical infrastructure farther away. The world should feel sparsely populated, productive, open, and peaceful without appearing untouched or primitive. No battle is occurring. No Jedi, Sith, lightsabers, later-era Imperial equipment, Rebel iconography, or modern Earth farming machinery.
Use the Shared Core Prompt and Visual Standard provided after the third recommended image.

Land, Wildlife & Rural Life
**Standard Text**
Dantooine's landscape is defined more by open country than by cities. Farms, homesteads, military facilities, energy infrastructure, archaeological sites, and small centers of commerce are separated by stretches of grassland and wilderness. Travel outside established facilities can therefore involve real distance, limited immediate assistance, wildlife, equipment failures, and changing environmental conditions.
Blba trees are among the planet's most recognizable native features. They can survive for centuries, and particularly old trees have served as wedding sites for successive generations of Dantooinian families. Their endurance has made them a natural symbol of the planet's people as well as part of its physical landscape.
Kath hounds are also native to Dantooine. Although capable of aggression when threatened, they are intelligent and trainable enough to be kept elsewhere as guards or companion animals. Local tradition considers sightings of rare albino kath hounds fortunate. Kinraths and other dangerous wildlife mean that the countryside should nevertheless not be treated as harmless simply because it is pastoral.
For characters raised here, rural life might mean familiarity with agricultural schedules, long journeys between communities, machinery and animal care, close local networks, seasonal work, and a landscape where military traffic or offworld visitors remain noticeable. None of those circumstances dictates whether a Dantooinian is traditionalist, ambitious, politically loyal, resentful, curious about the wider galaxy, or eager to leave.

Agriculture, Government & Republic Development
**Standard Text**
For much of its history, Dantooine's farmers concentrated primarily on sustaining their own communities, sending relatively limited surpluses to the planet's few commercial centers. Modern Republic investment has changed that relationship. Kibla greens and yot beans remain established staple crops, while authorities have encouraged faster-growing non-native crops to help meet increasing wartime demand.
The result is a planet whose agriculture has become part of a much larger supply system. Dantooine stores food and military materiel moving toward the front and serves as a resupply point for Republic vessels. Industrialized farming has consequently required greater power generation, transportation capacity, security, maintenance, and offworld investment.
The Banir Regional Energy Complex illustrates that transformation. Republic engineers rebuilt an aging dam near Tokare Garrison into a combined hydroelectric and wind-power installation capable of supporting expanded agricultural production.
Development has brought benefits without producing universal enthusiasm. Improved infrastructure, defenses, employment, subsidies, and access to wider markets may strengthen one household while another sees the same changes as dependence upon distant institutions or the militarization of a formerly quiet region.
Dantooine also retains its own governing body rather than functioning merely as a Republic base. SWTOR establishes that the planetary government supports Republic military activity and receives agricultural subsidies and salvage rights around the ruined Jedi Enclave in return. Its precise constitutional structure is not clearly established, so individual stories do not need to invent a specific planetary office or political system where the lore remains silent.

War, Piracy & Imperial Activity
**Standard Text**
Dantooine's growing value made it a target during the renewed conflict between the **Galactic Republic** and **Sith Empire**. Its position near Imperial space, expanded supply infrastructure, and stores of food and munitions offered strategic rewards without requiring conquest of a densely populated industrial world.
Tokare Garrison represents the Republic's increasing military presence. It supports ship resupply, logistics, local defense, and the use of Dantooine as a staging point for operations near Imperial territory. Service here can therefore involve convoy protection, engineering, communications, intelligence support, infrastructure security, supply management, anti-piracy work, or perimeter patrols as readily as conventional frontline combat.
The Nova Blades exploited that strategic importance when they attacked the planet to seize Republic food and munitions. Covert Imperial agents helped create the opportunity, and a small Imperial force entered under cover of the chaos to damage Republic infrastructure and establish Outpost DNT-X004 near the Banir Regional Energy Complex.
That history gives Dantooine lasting uses beyond recreating the original assault. Stolen equipment can remain in circulation. Abandoned caches, damaged farms, former collaborators, unexploded ordnance, disputed salvage, missing records, frightened communities, pirate contacts, veterans, and surviving intelligence operations can all produce consequences long after a particular raid ends.

The Jedi Enclave & Ancient Legacy
**Standard Text**
Dantooine's archaeological importance predates the modern Republic–Imperial conflict by thousands of years. The planet once fell within the Rakatan Infinite Empire, and traces of that occupation survived long enough to become subjects of later exploration and study.
Its best-known historical site is the Jedi Enclave established by Master Vodo-Siosk Baas. Dantooine's isolation and naturally occurring crystal caverns made the world suitable for Jedi training, and Exar Kun, Revan, and Malak were among the powerful Force-users associated with the enclave.
During the Jedi Civil War, Darth Malak ordered an attack that devastated the complex. Later attempts at restoration did not return it permanently to its earlier role. By the modern SWTOR period the enclave had been abandoned by the **Jedi Order**, damaged by scavenging and seismic activity, and subjected to sanctioned salvage rather than operating as a functioning Jedi academy.
The ruins nevertheless remain more than an empty historical monument. Darth Malgus entered the enclave during Secrets of the Enclave while Republic and Imperial forces pursued him. He removed an obscure relic whose significance eventually drew investigators toward **Elom** and the mysteries surrounding Darth Nul.
For roleplay, the enclave works best as a layered archaeological and spiritual site rather than an unlimited source of intact Jedi treasures. Excavation permits, fragmentary archives, collapsed chambers, disputed salvage rights, relic trafficking, scholarly disagreements, Force impressions, security restrictions, and evidence damaged by centuries of disturbance provide stronger foundations than assuming a valuable holocron waits untouched behind every sealed door.
**Image / Photo — Optional**
Suggested Placement:
After the historical overview within The Jedi Enclave & Ancient Legacy.
Suggested Subject / Description:
The ruined Dantooine Jedi Enclave during the SWTOR era, showing damaged ancient structures embedded in the planet's open countryside. The image should communicate abandonment, archaeological disturbance, age, and the site's continued importance without depicting it as an intact active academy.
Suggested Format:
4:3 landscape website image.
Visual Continuity:
Match the hero image's rendering quality and aspect ratio while using closer framing and greater architectural emphasis. Preserve enough surrounding grassland and hills to identify the ruins as part of Dantooine rather than an isolated generic temple.
Era / Lore Requirements:
Use the recognizable Old Republic architectural character of the Dantooine enclave without presenting it as restored or currently inhabited by an operating Jedi school. Structures should show significant damage, weathering, collapse, vegetation, and archaeological disturbance. Do not substitute the later Coruscant Jedi Temple or another-era Jedi architectural design.
Recommended Alt Text:
Ruined Jedi Enclave structures standing among Dantooine's grassy hills, with broken stonework, collapsed sections, and overgrowth.
Image Subject:
The abandoned Jedi Enclave ruins on Dantooine during the SWTOR era. Ancient Old Republic Jedi architecture rises from rolling grasslands, but the complex is visibly damaged by its long history: collapsed walls, broken structural sections, exposed stonework, vegetation, and signs of earlier scavenging or archaeological disturbance. Portions of the surviving enclave should remain recognizable and substantial without looking restored or operational. Dantooine's hills, grasses, and natural landscape should remain visible around the site. The composition should convey historical weight and lingering significance rather than supernatural spectacle. No active Jedi academy, no assembled Jedi students, no newly constructed temple, and no later-era Jedi Temple architecture. Lightsabers are unnecessary.
Use the Shared Core Prompt and Visual Standard provided after the third recommended image.

Spring Abundance Festival
**Standard Text**
Dantooine's history is not defined only by war and ruins. The Spring Abundance Festival developed as a celebration of the farmers and animal handlers whose work sustained the planet through long periods of hardship. Over time it became popular enough to attract visitors from elsewhere in the galaxy.
The festival provides a useful reminder that Dantooine possesses traditions, celebrations, hospitality, commerce, and ordinary community life alongside its strategic role. Blba Groves and its surrounding farm country can support visiting merchants, agricultural specialists, animal handlers, travelers, entertainers, families, competitors, seasonal workers, and characters simply looking for a reason to visit Dantooine that has nothing to do with a military campaign or Jedi relic.
Festival-centered stories do not need to reproduce SWTOR's event missions. A livestock problem, damaged crop, visiting trader, family obligation, local rivalry, missing animal, disputed sale, celebration, accident, theft, or unexpected reunion can place characters within Dantooine's civilian life without turning the festival itself into a galactic crisis.

The Jannimak Wreck & Ecological Crisis
**Standard Text**
A newer crisis has transformed part of Dantooine's environment. The research vessel Jannimak was designed to sustain configurable artificial environments capable of acclimatizing plants, animals, and microorganisms originating on different worlds. After the vessel crashed on Dantooine, its damaged systems began extending those controlled environments into the surrounding countryside.
The Galactic Sustainability Institute, a division of Galactic Solutions Industries, established a research presence at the Crash Site Outpost. Its personnel are attempting to study and respond to the expanding ecosystems, placing environmental protection beside GSI's broader scientific and commercial interest in whatever can be learned from the wreck.
Three major artificial biomes now distinguish the affected territory.
**List**
* Sporefall — The Jannimak releases rapidly multiplying spores that accelerate plant growth. Prolonged exposure can cause sleepiness, nausea, and disorientation, while affected native animals may become aggressive.* Glacial Trespass — Introduced flora and supporting machinery suppress local temperatures, producing unnatural cold and severe damage to Dantooine's native plants and wildlife.* Geothermal Disruption — Excavation machinery, extreme heat, and toxic runoff threaten the surrounding environment, with contamination potentially affecting the region for generations.
**Standard Text**
At the current StarForgeRP setting, the Jannimak crash site remains part of Dantooine's established environmental context. The affected region can support researchers, environmental specialists, medics, engineers, security personnel, mercenaries, independent contractors, salvagers, xenobiologists, locals protecting nearby land, corporate representatives, and criminals interested in unfamiliar biological or technological material.
Stories need not assume that the entire planet has become ecologically transformed. The crisis is most useful as a major regional development intruding upon Dantooine's familiar grasslands rather than as a replacement for the rest of the world's established environment.
For the wider galactic circumstances surrounding the current StarForgeRP period, see **Current Setting** (https://www.starforgerp.com/timeline/current-setting).
**Image / Photo — Optional**
Suggested Placement:
Immediately after The Jannimak Wreck & Ecological Crisis.
Suggested Subject / Description:
The wrecked Jannimak embedded in Dantooine's countryside, with one boundary where familiar grassland is being overtaken by an alien biome. The image should make the environmental intrusion visually clear without attempting to show all three biomes at once.
Suggested Format:
4:3 landscape website image.
Visual Continuity:
Match the other two page images in dimensions and realistic rendering. This image may carry the strongest atmospheric contrast, but it should still look like the same planet and artwork collection.
Era / Lore Requirements:
The Jannimak is an advanced Old Republic-era research vessel built to sustain configurable habitats. The surrounding affected environment should visibly intrude upon ordinary Dantooine terrain. Do not depict the wreck as a later Imperial Star Destroyer, Republic capital ship, or generic modern spacecraft. Do not invent an identifying faction insignia if none is required.
Recommended Alt Text:
The wrecked Jannimak amid Dantooine grasslands as unfamiliar vegetation and environmental disruption spread from the crash site.
Image Subject:
The crash site of the Jannimak research vessel on Dantooine during the current SWTOR-era aftermath of its impact. A large, technologically advanced Old Republic-era research ship lies damaged and partially embedded in Dantooine's rolling countryside. Familiar grassland and blba-like vegetation remain visible farther from the wreck, while one expanding artificial biome visibly disrupts the nearby terrain with unfamiliar alien plant life and environmental-control machinery. GSI research equipment or a small distant response presence may appear if useful for scale, but the wreck and environmental boundary remain the primary subjects. The vessel should look like specialized habitat and research technology rather than a warship. Do not add later-era Imperial, Rebel, First Order, or Resistance designs. Do not invent a prominent faction emblem. No battle or lightsabers are required.
Shared Core Prompt:
Create three separate original 4:3 visuals for the StarForgeRP website, using each Image Subject above as an independent composition.
Use a realistic, cinematic concept-art presentation appropriate to Star Wars: The Old Republic and the broader Old Republic era. The images should feel grounded, detailed, atmospheric, and believable, with restrained visual storytelling rather than exaggerated spectacle.
Maintain visual compatibility across the three images without forcing them into identical colors or lighting. Dark blue, navy, charcoal, muted metallic tones, cool environmental light, and selective warm gold or amber illumination may provide a recurring visual foundation where appropriate. Preserve the recognizable natural greens, earth tones, crop colors, vegetation, ancient stone, or environmental anomalies important to each Dantooine subject.
Compose each scene according to what it needs to communicate. Give the primary subject clear visual focus while allowing the surrounding environment to provide useful context, scale, and atmosphere.
Prioritize SWTOR-era and Old Republic-era visual language. Clothing, architecture, vehicles, agricultural machinery, starships, equipment, terminals, droids, furnishings, and other technology should feel appropriate to that period whenever they appear. Avoid designs strongly associated with later Star Wars eras.
Follow the supplied Dantooine lore and continuity rather than replacing it with generic Star Wars imagery. Do not invent lore-significant uniforms, insignia, technology, architecture, symbols, relationships, events, or outcomes merely to make an image more elaborate. When an uncertain detail is unnecessary to the composition, leave it visually unspecified.
Use environmental depth, atmospheric haze, practical or holographic illumination, weather, terrain, architecture, machinery, distant activity, or agricultural context where appropriate. Background detail should support the primary subject and help establish Dantooine without overwhelming the composition.
Weapons should appear only when relevant. Lightsabers should not be added merely as Star Wars decoration.
Do not include titles, captions, logos, borders, watermarks, webpage elements, decorative written language, readable interface labels, or other visible text.
Compose every artwork for a 4:3 frame. Keep important structures, wreckage, environmental boundaries, and landscape features comfortably within the composition so they remain recognizable when displayed on StarForgeRP at approximately 440 × 330 px.
Shared Visual Standard:
Aspect Ratio: 4:3
Website Display Size: approximately 440 × 330 px
Generation Size: use an appropriate native 4:3 resolution rather than generating specifically at the smaller website dimensions
Overall Style: realistic, cinematic Old Republic-era concept art
Palette: dark blue, navy, charcoal, muted metallic tones, and restrained warm illumination as a recurring foundation where appropriate; preserve Dantooine's natural landscape colors and subject-specific environmental colors when important
Lighting: cinematic and atmospheric, suited individually to pastoral landscape, ancient ruins, or environmental disaster
Atmosphere: grounded, immersive, detailed, and visually restrained
Composition: clear primary subject, readable at website display size, with essential details safely inside the frame
Background: lore-appropriate and supportive without competing with the primary subject
Continuity & Era: favor SWTOR-era Dantooine and supplied StarForgeRP continuity; avoid later-era substitutions
Reference Material: official SWTOR imagery may inform era and environmental research, but create new original compositions rather than closely reproducing existing artwork
Technology: appropriate to the Old Republic / SWTOR era
Weapons: only when relevant
Lightsabers: only when specifically appropriate
Originality: create new compositions rather than directly reproducing or closely copying existing artwork
Text, Logos & UI: none

Using Dantooine in Roleplay
**Standard Text**
Dantooine is especially useful when large galactic events are allowed to create consequences at a human scale. The Republic–Imperial war may matter because a shipment failed to arrive. Agricultural modernization may save one farm and threaten another. An ancient Jedi site may create a dispute over access or ownership rather than reveal a galaxy-changing secret. A pirate attack may leave behind a ruined business, stolen equipment, or an unresolved disappearance. The Jannimak crisis may force a family to decide what happens to contaminated land.
**List**
* Rural & Agricultural — Farms, machinery, animals, harvests, cooperatives, land disputes, transport, processing, seasonal labor, and local businesses.* Republic & Military — Logistics, supply depots, convoy protection, engineering, communications, intelligence support, contracting, veterans, and the effect of military expansion on nearby communities.* Archaeology & the Jedi — Excavations, salvage rights, relic authentication, illegal trafficking, ruined chambers, Force impressions, historical disagreements, and restricted access to the enclave.* Piracy & Espionage — Nova Blade remnants, stolen materiel, informants, hidden caches, covert Imperial activity, sabotage, counterintelligence, and criminal opportunism.* Festival & Civilian Life — Agricultural celebration, visiting merchants, animal care, family traditions, tourism, competitions, accidents, theft, and community rivalries.* Environmental Response — GSI research, contaminated territory, medical problems, hazardous travel, unfamiliar organisms, corporate interests, ecological protection, salvage, and disputes over how damaged land should be handled.
**Standard Text**
A character does not need to determine the fate of Dantooine for their choices to matter there. The planet works best when its ancient history, Republic importance, rural communities, celebrations, military pressures, and environmental problems coexist rather than replacing one another.
Developments established through StarForgeRP campaigns, missions, or character stories can be preserved through **Roleplay** (https://www.starforgerp.com/roleplay) when they create consequences that remain relevant afterward.
