**Title**
Dromund Kaas
**Small Text / Caption**
The storm-shrouded capital world of the Sith Empire.
**Standard Text**
Dromund Kaas is the political heart of the **Sith Empire**: a remote jungle world where Imperial government, military power, Sith authority, ancient history, and ordinary civilian life exist beneath persistent electrical storms. Kaas City rises from the wilderness as the Empire’s principal capital, but the developed city represents only one part of a planet that also contains military installations, private estates, dangerous jungle, archaeological sites, and places strongly associated with the dark side of the Force.
After the ancient Sith Empire was defeated in the Great Hyperspace War, surviving Sith eventually rediscovered Dromund Kaas and rebuilt their civilization there in isolation. Over the following millennium, the world became the center from which the restored Empire developed its government, military, fleet, and plans for an eventual return to the wider galaxy.
For roleplay, Dromund Kaas works best as more than a collection of Sith temples or political chambers. Sith Lords and senior officers may command enormous influence, but administrators, soldiers, intelligence personnel, engineers, scientists, technicians, merchants, laborers, servants, contractors, households, and ordinary Imperial residents are equally necessary to sustain a galactic capital.

Suggested Placement:
Immediately below the introductory text.
Suggested Subject / Description:
A wide SWTOR-era view of Dromund Kaas in which the illuminated towers of Kaas City rise beyond dense rain-darkened jungle beneath heavy clouds and distant electrical storms. Imperial architecture should be visible enough to establish the planet as the capital of a technologically advanced state, while the jungle remains a substantial part of the composition so the image represents Dromund Kaas rather than functioning only as a Kaas City skyline.
Suggested Format:
4:3 landscape website image.
Visual Continuity:
Use the broader StarForgeRP cinematic artwork language: realistic rendering, strong environmental depth, restrained cool illumination, dark navy and charcoal architecture, wet jungle surfaces, atmospheric mist, and selective warm light from inhabited Imperial structures. The city and wilderness should carry comparable visual weight.
Era / Lore Requirements:
Use SWTOR and Old Republic-era Imperial architecture rather than imagery associated primarily with Palpatine’s later Galactic Empire. Do not depict Imperial Star Destroyers, TIE fighters, stormtrooper armor, or other later-era visual shorthand. The electrical storms, dense jungle, monumental Imperial development, and strong contrast between controlled civilization and wilderness are established characteristics of Dromund Kaas. No lightsabers are necessary.
Reference Material:
Official SWTOR depictions of Dromund Kaas and Kaas City may inform the environmental language, architecture, storm conditions, and relationship between city and jungle. The finished artwork should be an original composition rather than a reproduction of existing SWTOR artwork.

Image Generation Prompt
Image Subject
A broad environmental view of Dromund Kaas during the SWTOR era. Dense dark-green jungle and rain-soaked rocky terrain occupy the foreground and middle distance, broken by a controlled Imperial approach or elevated transit structure. Beyond the wilderness, the monumental towers of Kaas City rise from jungle gorges beneath a heavily clouded night or twilight sky. The city should use recognizable Old Republic-era Sith Imperial visual language: severe monumental geometry, dark metallic structures, fortified silhouettes, cool artificial illumination, and substantial infrastructure without resembling the later Galactic Empire.
Persistent electrical storms dominate the upper atmosphere. Distant lightning should illuminate clouds and portions of the jungle without turning the scene into exaggerated disaster imagery. Mist, rainfall, wet vegetation, atmospheric haze, distant transport traffic, and scattered inhabited windows may reinforce the sense that this is both a dangerous jungle world and a functioning galactic capital.
The composition should establish three ideas immediately when viewed at website size: Dromund Kaas is heavily developed by the Sith Empire, Kaas City is surrounded by extensive wilderness, and the planet exists beneath severe storm conditions.
No prominent character is required. Small distant figures, transports, or security personnel may be included only for scale. Do not add lightsabers as decoration.
Do not depict Galactic Empire stormtroopers, Imperial-class Star Destroyers, TIE fighters, Death Star-era equipment, or architecture strongly identified with later Star Wars periods.
Core Prompt
Create an original 4:3 visual for the StarForgeRP website based on the Image Subject described above.
Use a realistic, cinematic concept-art presentation appropriate to Star Wars: The Old Republic and the broader Old Republic era. The image should feel grounded, detailed, atmospheric, and believable, with restrained visual storytelling rather than exaggerated spectacle.
Maintain visual compatibility with the broader StarForgeRP artwork collection without forcing every subject into identical colors or lighting. Dark blue, navy, charcoal, muted metallic tones, cool environmental light, and selective warm gold or amber illumination may provide a recurring visual foundation where appropriate. Allow the natural colors of a character, world, culture, environment, object, or scene to remain recognizable when they are important to the subject.
Compose the scene according to what it needs to communicate. Characters, locations, landscapes, historical scenes, artifacts, architecture, starships, organizations, cultural subjects, technology, and archival compositions do not require identical framing. Give the primary subject a clear visual focus while allowing the surrounding environment to provide useful context, scale, and atmosphere.
Prioritize SWTOR-era and Old Republic-era visual language. Clothing, armor, architecture, starships, weapons, equipment, terminals, droids, vehicles, furnishings, and other technology should feel appropriate to that period when they appear. Avoid designs strongly associated with later Star Wars eras unless the individual Image Subject specifically requires them.
When the subject is tied to a particular faction, organization, culture, location, historical period, or StarForgeRP development, follow the supplied lore and continuity information rather than replacing it with generic Star Wars imagery.
Do not invent lore-significant uniforms, insignia, technology, architecture, symbols, relationships, events, or outcomes merely to make the image more elaborate.
When an uncertain detail is not necessary to the composition, it may remain visually unspecified.
Where appropriate, use environmental depth, atmospheric haze, practical or holographic illumination, weather, planetary terrain, architecture, machinery, interiors, crowds, distant activity, or culturally appropriate surroundings.
Background detail should support the primary subject and help establish the setting without overwhelming the composition.
For original StarForgeRP characters and other community-created subjects, follow supplied descriptions and reference material when available.
Preserve specifically requested identifying features, proportions, clothing, equipment, markings, colors, or other established design elements while creating a new composition rather than closely reproducing unrelated artwork.
If no reference image is supplied, create an original interpretation from the written description. Do not request a reference merely because one could improve precision.
Weapons should appear only when relevant to the subject.
Lightsabers should not be added merely as general Star Wars decoration; include them only when they meaningfully belong to the character, event, location, activity, or subject being depicted.
Do not include titles, captions, logos, borders, watermarks, webpage elements, decorative written language, readable interface labels, or other visible text unless the individual Image Subject specifically calls for them.
Compose the artwork for a 4:3 frame.
Keep important faces, characters, objects, landmarks, vehicles, and other essential visual information comfortably within the composition, with enough surrounding space to prevent important details from being lost near the edges.
The primary subject should remain recognizable and readable when the image is displayed on StarForgeRP at approximately 440 × 330 px.

Environment & Geography
**Standard Text**
Dromund Kaas is dominated by dense jungle beneath a dark, storm-heavy atmosphere. Kaas City and other Imperial developments impose monumental architecture, roads, transport systems, installations, landing facilities, and defensive infrastructure upon that landscape, but large areas beyond the principal developed centers remain wilderness.
The storms are more than ordinary weather. SWTOR’s official planetary history attributes the planet’s persistent electrical disturbance to dark-side rituals performed by the Sith Emperor during the Empire’s long isolation. Those rituals damaged the atmosphere and transformed the ionosphere into a continuing electrical storm.
Rain, lightning, mist, jungle terrain, wildlife, and distance between controlled locations can therefore matter practically in roleplay. Travel, searches, rescue operations, field investigations, archaeological work, or communications may become more difficult away from established infrastructure without requiring every visit to become a survival story.
For someone raised on Dromund Kaas, conditions that visitors find oppressive or dramatic may simply be ordinary weather.

Ancient Sith Presence & Rediscovery
**Standard Text**
Dromund Kaas was known and colonized by the Sith in antiquity, but its hyperspace coordinates were eventually lost and the planet faded from wider galactic knowledge.
Following the ancient Sith Empire’s defeat in the Great Hyperspace War, surviving Sith abandoned established routes while fleeing their enemies. Official SWTOR history describes the refugees wandering through dangerous hyperspace jumps and scouting missions for roughly twenty years before rediscovering the Dromund system.
The rediscovered world gave the survivors an isolated base beyond Republic observation from which they could rebuild.

Rebirth of the Empire
**Standard Text**
The first generations on Dromund Kaas transformed survival into a new Imperial state. Kaas City was established in the jungle, monumental government structures followed, and the Empire spent centuries developing its military, fleet, administration, Sith institutions, and wider society in preparation for an eventual return to known space.
That long history matters for Dromund Kaas-born characters. The Empire need not be an institution their family joined recently. Families may possess generations of military service, civil employment, professional reputation, Sith patronage, social advantage, rivalry, dispossession, or hardship tied to life on the capital world.
**Subheading**
The Later SWTOR Era
**Standard Text**
Dromund Kaas does not remain frozen in the political conditions of SWTOR’s original class stories.
Across the later SWTOR period, the Empire endures renewed war, severe internal conflict, the disappearance of its old Emperor, Zakuul’s conquest and blockade, major institutional losses, political reconstruction, and further reform. Later game material continues to identify Dromund Kaas as the Imperial capital even after those upheavals.
Characters from different generations may therefore remember substantially different versions of Imperial life even when all of them consider Dromund Kaas home.
For the campaign’s present political and galactic situation, see **Current Setting**.

Imperial Capital World
**Standard Text**
Dromund Kaas concentrates Imperial authority more visibly than almost any other world.
Government administration, Sith politics, military command, intelligence work, patronage networks, professional advancement, security institutions, and political rivalry all have natural reasons to converge here. SWTOR’s original planetary description specifically emphasizes both the planet’s strong military presence and its culture of political maneuvering, where alliances and rivalries can determine careers and survival.
That concentration of power does not mean every resident participates in elite politics. A galactic capital also requires administrators, clerks, engineers, medical staff, security personnel, technicians, transport crews, researchers, logistical workers, merchants, contractors, domestic staff, families, and countless other people whose lives support institutions they may never control.
The **Sith Empire** page provides the broader political, military, and social context. Dromund Kaas should focus on how those institutions shape life on this particular world.
**Subheading**
Kaas City
**Standard Text**
**Kaas City** is Dromund Kaas’s principal metropolis and the center of Imperial government. SWTOR describes it as both a city of massive towers and a fortress, established among the jungle world’s gorges and ravines by the first Sith settlers who rebuilt the Empire here. Its population eventually grew into the millions.
Government facilities, military institutions, Sith authority, intelligence work, residences, professional activity, commerce, transportation, and private life all exist within the capital. For many characters, Kaas City therefore provides the broadest range of ordinary Dromund Kaas roleplay: employment, meetings, family responsibilities, political patronage, social gatherings, security work, medical treatment, professional rivalries, intelligence activity, and private disputes can all occur without involving an ancient ruin.
The dedicated Kaas City page carries the more detailed discussion of its institutions, neighborhoods, Citadel, services, urban life, and historical development.

Beyond Kaas City
**Standard Text**
The capital does not represent the entire planet.
Beyond the principal urban areas are jungle routes, military positions, Imperial outposts, private estates, archaeological remains, old Sith sites, and isolated locations where the controlled appearance of Imperial civilization gives way to older and less predictable surroundings.
Several established sites are particularly useful reference points.
**Subheading**
The Dark Temple
**Standard Text**
The Dark Temple is one of Dromund Kaas’s most significant dark-side sites.
According to the SWTOR codex, the Sith Emperor ordered the temple constructed centuries ago as a burial place for dead and defeated enemies. Whatever rituals followed contributed to its development into a powerful dark-side nexus in which ancient Sith weapons and secrets were sealed. Later intrusion into the complex produced further dangerous disturbances, and Imperial authorities treated the location as a serious and poorly understood hazard rather than an ordinary archaeological ruin.
For roleplay, the Dark Temple can support Sith scholarship, archaeology, restricted investigations, artifact recovery, security operations, missing-person stories, or encounters with consequences left by earlier Sith activity.
Its supernatural influence should create possibilities rather than automatically determine another player character’s thoughts, emotions, visions, corruption, or behavior.

The Revanite Compound
**Standard Text**
During the early SWTOR period, followers of Revan maintained a concealed community in the jungles of Dromund Kaas after growing suspicion forced their movement away from more open activity in Kaas City. The early Order drew members from varied positions within Imperial society and used secrecy to protect teachings that authorities could regard as heretical or subversive.
The **Order of Revan** changed dramatically during later SWTOR events, eventually developing from its Dromund Kaas origins into a much larger conspiracy spanning both Republic and Imperial institutions.
The compound is therefore most useful as an established historical Revanite location. A present-day story should not assume that its original community remains there unchanged unless later StarForgeRP continuity specifically establishes that circumstance.

The Unfinished Colossus
**Standard Text**
The Unfinished Colossus began as an enormous monument commissioned in secret by Lord Qet, apprentice to Darth Vowrawn, in an effort to honor his master and increase his own prestige. Offworld enslaved laborers were brought to Dromund Kaas to construct it, but the workers rebelled and the monument remained incomplete during the original SWTOR storyline.
The site is useful both as a recognizable planetary landmark and as a physical reminder that Sith competition, exploitation, and private ambition have repeatedly left marks upon the landscape around the Imperial capital.
Its exact condition in much later continuity should remain unspecified unless established by later lore or StarForgeRP events.

Life on Dromund Kaas
**Standard Text**
There is no single Dromund Kaas experience.
A Sith from an established household, a career officer, an intelligence analyst, a government administrator, a technical specialist, a merchant, a laborer, an enslaved person, a household servant, an alien Imperial, and someone employed by a powerful patron may all inhabit the same world while possessing radically different levels of authority, security, wealth, opportunity, and freedom.
Status matters, but status does not determine personality.
A military family may take pride in generations of service while resenting Sith interference. Someone raised within a powerful household may understand patronage and hierarchy almost instinctively. A civil servant may care more about competent administration than Sith philosophy. Someone of lower status may become highly skilled at recognizing which authorities can safely be approached and which should be avoided.
Later SWTOR developments also change aspects of Imperial society. Opportunities available to some groups expand as the Empire reforms in response to military losses and political crises, although older hierarchy, prejudice, coercion, and inequality do not disappear simply because institutions change. The **Sith Empire** page should govern the broader treatment of those developments.

Growing Up on Dromund Kaas
**Standard Text**
For a character born or raised here, the part of the planet they knew matters.
Growing up in Kaas City is different from living on a private estate, near a military installation, within an institutional household, or in a more isolated settlement or work site. Family connections to government, the military, intelligence, Sith patrons, commerce, professional institutions, labor, or none of those things can shape very different relationships with Imperial power.
Age matters as well. Older residents may remember governments, wars, institutions, and social expectations that younger characters know only as history. Two lifelong residents can consequently disagree strongly about what qualifies as “traditional” Imperial life without either one being an outsider.
**Heading**
Travel, Access & Security
**Standard Text**
Dromund Kaas is a heavily defended capital world containing government centers, military infrastructure, Sith facilities, intelligence activity, private estates, and other restricted locations. Later SWTOR codex material continues to describe its planetary defenses as formidable.
Imperial citizens, military personnel, Sith, government employees, approved contractors, merchants, household staff, and others with legitimate Imperial business can therefore have straightforward reasons to travel to the world. Presence on the planet does not automatically require exceptional rank.
Openly hostile affiliation is different. A character tied visibly to an enemy government, military, or intelligence organization usually needs a believable reason for access—covert entry, capture, defection, false identity, official arrangement, clandestine work, or another circumstance established through the story.
Security should remain contextual rather than omniscient. Government complexes and military installations may be heavily controlled while private property, wilderness, ordinary workplaces, transit routes, or less important areas create very different circumstances. Imperial authorities can possess extensive surveillance and security capabilities without automatically knowing everything that happens everywhere on the planet.
For the current state of relations between the Empire and other galactic powers, use **Current Setting**.
**Heading**
The Dark Side
**Standard Text**
Dromund Kaas has a particularly strong association with the dark side of the Force.
Official SWTOR material describes the planet as saturated with dark-side energy and directly connects its damaged atmosphere to rituals performed by the Sith Emperor. The Dark Temple represents an even more concentrated example of that legacy.
That influence can provide atmosphere for Force-sensitive characters without creating a mandatory reaction. A Sith, Jedi, mystic, untrained Force-sensitive, or practitioner of another tradition may understand the same place differently according to training, experience, beliefs, and the specific location involved.
Visions, corruption, fear, attraction, altered judgment, or other personal effects are possibilities for collaborative storytelling rather than automatic consequences imposed simply because a character visits Dromund Kaas.

Using Dromund Kaas in Roleplay
**Standard Text**
The strongest Dromund Kaas characters usually have a specific relationship with the world rather than only a general Imperial affiliation.
**List**
* Decide where their life actually happens: Kaas City, an estate, government office, military installation, research site, wilderness post, or another believable location.* Give them a concrete connection to the world through family, work, military service, government, Sith patronage, study, commerce, property, obligation, investigation, or travel.* Consider their social position. Rank, profession, wealth, family reputation, species, institutional authority, patronage, and legal status can create different kinds of opportunity or vulnerability.* Decide which period of Imperial history shaped them most strongly. Age and personal experience may change what they regard as ordinary, traditional, threatening, or reformist.* If they are not Imperial, establish why they can plausibly be present on a sensitive capital world.* Give them something ordinary that connects them to the place: a home, workplace, family member, professional contact, neighbor, routine, favorite meeting place, rival, debt, responsibility, or unfinished problem.
**Standard Text**
Dromund Kaas is particularly well suited to stories involving professional ambition, political rivalry, military administration, intelligence and counterintelligence, Sith power bases, household obligations, government work, archaeology, social inequality, security questions, investigations, private estates, historical mysteries, and the contrast between ordinary life and proximity to enormous institutional power.
Not every story needs to threaten the Empire. A compromised career, missing employee, disputed inheritance, failed contract, suspicious artifact, professional rivalry, security breach, family obligation, damaged reputation, or unexplained activity in the jungle can create durable consequences without becoming a galaxy-wide crisis.

Common Misconceptions
**Subheading**
“Everyone on Dromund Kaas is Sith.”
**Standard Text**
The Sith rule the Empire and possess enormous political influence, but they represent only part of the population required to operate its capital world. Soldiers, officers, administrators, intelligence personnel, scientists, technicians, workers, merchants, servants, contractors, families, and other civilians all have believable places on Dromund Kaas.
**Subheading**
“Kaas City is Dromund Kaas.”
**Standard Text**
Kaas City is the planet’s most important settlement, not the entire world. Jungle, Imperial installations, private estates, ruins, archaeological sites, wilderness, and isolated landmarks provide settings very different from the capital’s urban core.
**Subheading**
“The storms are just ordinary bad weather.”
**Standard Text**
Not entirely. SWTOR explicitly connects Dromund Kaas’s persistent electrical storms to dark-side rituals conducted by the Sith Emperor, which damaged the planet’s atmosphere.
