House Vashara remembers Vanessa Vashara as its ancestral founder and a covert Sith operative associated with Darth Revan during the Jedi Civil War. Her importance to the family rests on that remembered service and the teachings preserved in her surviving Sith holocron.

The Jedi Civil War followed Revan and Malak’s intervention in the Mandalorian Wars and their encounter with the concealed Sith Empire. Returning to Republic space as Sith leaders, they pursued conquest with forces supplied by the Rakatan Star Forge. Malak’s betrayal displaced Revan, whose eventual return to the Jedi led to Malak’s defeat and the station’s destruction.

Vanessa survived the collapse of the Sith power she had served. Tradition credits her with an early material inheritance, but its composition is uncertain; later House wealth cannot all be traced to her or to Rakatan technology.

By 3699 BBY, VSR-9 had entered House service on Dromund Kaas. Its administrative duties subsequently expanded into succession authentication and historical reconstruction. This provides a dated connection to the later household without completing the earlier genealogy.

The gatekeeper represents her encoded personality and knowledge. It explains stored material and enforces restrictions; it is not Vanessa resurrected or an automatic witness to later history.

Power & Inheritance

Her teachings emphasize preparing for the loss of power. The Star Forge illustrates dependence on a resource that can disappear, while skills, relationships, and institutions may endure. Later customs need not reproduce her intentions exactly.

Vanessa’s place in House history connects later generations to a founding tradition whose details remain open to examination. The family’s archives contain evidence from many subsequent lives and administrations; each contributes its own history.

Lord Valen Vashara left an unfinished investigation into purchasing, contracting, and associated authorizations when he died in 3646 BBY. His surviving records and unresolved death belong to a much later chapter of House history. Their significance does not establish a connection between Vanessa’s activities and the circumstances he investigated.

Darth Zera Vashara approaches inherited authority through authentication and defensible findings. Darth Zylia Vashara carries responsibilities for security, preservation, and institutional continuity. These priorities shape how the household handles its inheritance without requiring the sisters to reach identical judgments.
